Question by bjmarchini: “business” projector versus home theater DLP projector for movies, games and an htpc?
I am going to get a front end projector. I am nearly decided that I need a “home theater” projector as opposed to a standard “business” projector.

At first, I dismissed the home theater ones because of their much lower lumens compared to their business counterparts. Of course, the business ones tend to be much cheaper though.

These are the drawbacks of a business projector from what I have research

o white spaces in color wheel to increase lumens makes it too bright
o poor handling of motion in video
o less inputs for multiple devices
o generally not 16:9 native so you have to deal with gray bars
o poor handling of black levels

I wonder how real these issues or concerns are and if anyone uses a business one for their home theater.

I will be using it with our dvd player, home theater pc and an nintendo Wii.

I saw your previous questions and saw the poster commenting on the Epson not being any good because it’s a “business” projector. I can tell you from experience that there is absolutely nothing wrong with the S4 as a movie pj since it was the first one I owned and looked spectacular. I even used it outside on my outdoor 24′ theater and it was plenty bright enough to throw the 45′ required to get the larger image.

In my opinion as long as you get a good brand pj with decent lumens, contrast ratio and resolution you won’t be disappointed and forget all this business vs movie pj nonsense. I’ve never found a “business” pj that did not perform as well as a “movie” pj assuming the specs are good.

Both of the answers you have so far promote CashCrate – an outfit that purports to pay you for sitting on your backside and sampling products. What they don’t tell you is that you end up spending money…

The same rules apply to “work at home” as everywhere else: you have to create something of value that someone else wants and is willing to pay for. The more education you have, the higher the price you can command.
The options start with piecework and hand fabrication where you’ll be making a few dollars an hour, and go up to medical transcription work and telemarketing. I’m not aware that you can do customer service support from at-home, but it might be worth asking.

The information you’ve completely left out is: What education/training do you have, what CAN you do, and what region do you live in? Those more than anything determine where you go looking.

Compared to offline businesses, the investment required to start an online business is minimal. A popular way of earning money on the internet is by providing information and services. This can be monetised by advertising or charging a subscription. You can also make money online by selling products on auction websites like eBay or through your own website. Question by vikes534: What is the real deal with those “Home Business” scams you see on TV?
You all know which ones I am talking about. The TV commercials where they talk about “My home business….” and are washing their nice cars, etc. It is a huge scam, but what is the meat behind it.

I think the real deal is people are led to believe that they don’t have to work the program. That perhaps they just buy this package, and then go wait by the mailbox for the checks to come rolling in.
