Question by ellagrace: Any “home businesses” out there that are NOT scams?
I have been researching home business opportunities online to help supplement my primary income however I keep hearing to watch out for scams. Are there any “work from home business opportunities” that are not scams?

I get very suspicious because those who claim to make money from home seem EXTREMELY anxious to get you to sign up. Obviously, this means that they are making money by getting you to sign up. That smacks of a Multi-Level which makes me even MORE suspicious. IF there were a really good way to make money from home then WHY would those people need/want to enlist others?

Can I deduct a portion of my home expenses for tax purposes.?

You can not write off your store AND your home as your “principal place of business”. Wouldn’t you want to deduct your store rent?
