Question by blueeyes: Can I have a website and sell some of my homemade crafts without having a business license?
I make beaded jewelry as a hobby but would like to sell some over the internet. I’m not interested in making this a “business” – just a part time thing. Do I have to have a business license if I sell over the internet?

    1. Because art (the field I work in as well) is not considered a “traditional career” or one that deals with food and health, like with tattoo parlors and bars. You don’t. Nor would you need to register you business with you state b/c it is a sole proprietorship. You may want to get a tax ID at irs.gov, but that’s up to you. For tax puposes, You could use it to claim your business taxes and deductions for the business. Items you buy to make the jewlery, gas to travel for business puposes and many other things are something your should speak about with a tax pro. Otherwise, starting your new bis will be easy. Try opening a free site with geocities or something and market your items. You should do well. Good luck!
